Deli owners receive top Chamber award

The United Chambers of Commerce has selected Alex and David Lovi, owners of Agoura's Famous Deli and the new Pickles Deli in Newbury Park as the organization's small business owners of the year.

The Lovis were nominated by the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce. The Agoura Deli has been in operation for more than 10 years on Kanan Road in Agoura Hills. Pickles opened recently on Newbury Road in Newbury Park. "Alex Lovi has been a model business owner in Agoura Hills. His personal customer service is appreciated by his customers, and that's why they keep coming back and sending in their friends," said Alex Soteras, director of the United Chambers of Commerce and executive director of the Agoura Chamber.

The United Chambers represents 25 Chambers of Commerce and more than 30,000 businesses. The Lovis will receive the small business award at a special awards breakfast June 8 at the Beverly Garland Hotel in North Hollywood and will receive commendations from government officials, including Antonio Villaraigosa, mayor of Los Angeles.

To attend the awards breakfast, call the Chamber at (818) 889-3150.
