Conejo Jewish Genealogical Society to discuss DNA

Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County and surrounding areas will hold a general meeting, co-sponsored with Temple Adat Elohim, from 3 to 5 p.m. Sun., June 10 at the temple, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The topic will be "Jewish Genealogy and DNA Testing" presented by Bennett Greenspan, president and founder of Family Tree DNA.

Greenspan's presentation will include a description of how family relationships can be determined through DNA testing. He will explain what the science of DNA testing does for genealogists as well as what to expect from and learn from testing, what DNA test results look like and how to interpret and use them in family history research.

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County is dedicated to sharing genealogical information, techniques and research tools with anyone interested in Jewish genealogy and family history.

There is no charge to attend the meeting. Anyone may join the society. Annual dues are $25 for an individual and $30 for a family.
