YMCA sponsors beach camps

The Triunfo YMCA is sponsoring two resident camps on the beach this summer.

+Camp Fox, for youth entering grades 6 through 12, will take place on Catalina Island from July 8 through 14. Campers will take part in kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, archery, high and low rope challenges, swimming, hiking and nightly campfires.

The cost is $510 for Ymembers and $545 for nonmembers.

A parent information night and camp rally for Camp Fox will be at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., June 28 at Willow Elementary School, YMCA Bungalow, 29026 Laro St., Agoura Hills.

+San Diego is the site of Camp Surf from Aug. 6 through 10, for children in grades 5 through 8 who love to surf or want to learn how. Campers will sleep on the beach, learn how to surf, body board and body surf. They will also participate in archery and rock wall climbing and learn about survival skills and ocean water safety.

The cost is $400 for Y members and $435 for nonmembers.

A parent information night and camp rally for Camp Surf will be at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., July 26 at Sumac Elementary School, YMCA Bungalow, 6050 N. Calmfield Ave., Agoura Hills.
