Visual arts committee taking show entries

The Ventura County Arts Council Visual Arts Committee has announced that applications are available for the 2007 County Government Center Juried Competition.

Artists in Ventura, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties are invited to submit up to three pieces of original work for consideration in the fifth annual Open Juried Show. Accepted work will be on exhibit Thurs., June 14 through Wed., Aug. 15 in the atrium lobby of the Hall of Administration, County Government Center.

Cash prizes will be awarded at the public reception scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thurs., June 21.

The professional juror is Michael Pearce, internationally exhibited artist and professor of art at California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks.

Art delivery will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wed., June 13. Applications are available by calling the arts council at (805) 658-2213 or visiting www.venturacountyarts.net.
