A great teacher's never forgotten

It finally happened. Patti Kolb has gotten the recognition she justly deserved, to be honored in The Acorn for her love of her students and the love of reading. She instilled "love of education" and is an outstanding teacher.

Patti was our son's teacher in first grade in 1979 at Brookside and good fortune was with us because he then had her in second grade. Art, our son, had the cream-of-the-crop teachers at Brookside, then a K-to-6 school, and Patti Kolb was one of the best teachers Art had, along with all the others.

Patti was strict, but more importantly, she was consistent. She kept her students in line and never hesitated to find good in all of the students.

Patti, I, along with Art, now a mere 34, congratulate you on the honors you have received and justly deserved. Keep doing as you have always done. It surely works.
