Calabasas offers classes, camps The city of Calabasas offers classes and camps. For more information, call (818) 880-6461 or stop by De Anza Park at 3701 Lost Hills Road. +A oneday baby sitting seminar will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., June 9 or Aug. 18 at De Anza Park. Participants will learn the business of baby sitting, how to conduct family interviews, professional behavior, problem solving and decision making skills, telephone safety, age-appropriate toy selection, household safety, baby care and basic first aid. The cost is $40, plus a $25 materials fee. +Dog obedience classes will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tues., June 26 through Aug. 14 at Gates Canyon Park, 25801 Thousand Oaks Blvd., Calabasas. Dog owners can learn basic obedience commands including heel, sit, sit stay, come, down stay and take a break. The dog must be at least four months old. Cost is $65. +Summer camps for children ages 4 to 17 are offered through the community services department. Campers are grouped according to age and grade. Each week includes an excursion; the teen camp offers daily trips. Other camps for specific interests are also available, including drawing, acting, comedy and wizards. Camps will be at De Anza Park. |
