Gaming trip, tai chi class open for Agoura seniors

The city of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services presents the following activities for seniors who are registered members of the Agoura Hills Senior Center.

Membership is $12 for the calendar year and entitles participants to enroll in any classes and special events offered by the Senior Recreation Center.

+Beginning and intermediate tai chi classes for seniors 50 and up are now available. Tai chi is an exercise program that can facilitate balance, posture and reduce stress. Its slow movements help keep muscles toned and supple with joint flexibility.

Classes are ongoing Mondays and Wednesdays. The intermediate class will be from 9 to 10 a.m. and beginning from 10 to 11 a.m. at Reyes Adobe Park, 30400 Rainbow Crest Drive, Agoura Hills.

The class has a monthly fee of $29 or drop-in fee of $4 per class.

+A gaming trip to the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino will be Wed., July 11. The bus will depart from the Agoura Hills Recreation Center at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m.

The cost of the trip is $15 and participants will receive $10 toward food purchase at the casino.

Mail-in registration begins Tues., May 30. Walk-in/phone-in registration begins Mon., June 4. Space is limited.
