The gripe's with the stripes
The traffic planners and designers of the new Kanan Road interchange mitigated any traffic benefit by doing a horrible job with the lane striping.

For whatever reason, they have opted to create a one laneonly access to the 101 on-ramps for motorists going southbound on Kanan Road. They have created a design that frustrates drivers and does little to improve traffic conditions. The solution would have been simple and I don't know why they didn't see it.

The current right turn only onto Canwood should have included an option to go straight onto the northbound on-ramp to the 101. The next lane to the left (the current lane leading to the 101 northbound on ramp) should have included the option to enter the freeway or continue straight for access onto the 101 Southbound on-ramp. The third lane could've been designed as an option for entry onto the Southbound 101 or straight towards Malibu. Bruce Beck Oak Park
