Foundation welcomes new trustee

The Community Foundation for Oak Park has appointed Oak Park resident Elaine Benditson to serve as a foundation trustee.

Benditson, 54, holds a master of business administration degree from California Lutheran University and an undergraduate degree from UCLA.

She is director of resource development for Many Mansions in Thousand Oaks, an affordable housing and service provider to low-income residents of Ventura County.

Benditson and her family have lived in Oak Park since 1994.

"Elaine Benditson is an outstanding community member and will be a significant asset to our foundation board. We look forward to working with her," said David Ross, foundation president.

The current foundation board includes Ross; Eva Larson, vice-president; Diane Milavetz, treasurer; Harvey Kern, secretary; and trustees Mary Pallant, Karen Onifer, Risa Littman, Sherwin Samuels and Elaine Benditson, as well as Todd Haines, representing the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council and Jerry Kaman, representing the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.

The foundation was founded in 1979 and supports volunteer efforts in the community and raises funds for community programs and projects. More than half the foundation's funds are spent in support of students in the Oak Park Unified School District
