Family history group meets

The Ventura County Genealogical Society Inc. will hold its regular monthly meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. Sat., May 19 at the Ventura LDS Family History Center, 3501 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.

The guest speaker will be Sandy Lewis, who will discuss "Genealogical treasures of the UCSB libraries." Lewis earned a master's degree in library science from the University of Missouri at Columbia. She is a coordinator for publications and marketing and an engineering librarian at UCSB. She began researching her family tree as a hobby in 2002.

Scheduled workshops include: immigrant ports of entry, presented by Sandi Ruch; and beginning research computer workshop with Brenda Ball.

Meetings are free and guests are welcome.
