Oak View receives award

Oak View High School in Oak Park was named one of 13 model continuation high schools in California at the California Continuation Education Association annual conference in Sacramento last month.

This is the third time that Oak View has received this award.

"The district is very proud of Oak View High School for the amazing work that they do each day. They are making a difference for the kids that they serve, and we are all honored by this recognition. Congratulations are in order to Principal Lou Tabone and the entire staff," said Oak Park Superintendent Tony Knight.

At the conference, Knight was recognized as Administrator of the Year for CCEA Region 6, which comprises Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, for his support for continuation education.

Knight began his career in Oak Park as a teacher at Oak View High School in 1982 and later served as the principal until 1989.
