Students launch discount program

Sidney Primas and Ali Athar, both 17, announced the introduction of the Deuces Wild Company and its discount membership card program coordinated by members of a team from Westlake High School under the guidance of the worldwide Junior Achievement Program. Primas is the CEO and Athar the president of the company.

The firm is comprised of 25 young entrepreneurs, many of whom are returning members from last year's company, Rollin's Ink.

Through the program, local businesses offer discounts, which are sold to students and their families via the membership card.

"We do it all . . . we coordinate the local companies; we design and print the program; we then sell the program on an individual basis to our fellow students and their families," said TJ Hennessy, 17, the COO of the company.

BJ's, D'Amores Pizza, Sea Casa, Applebees, Italian Deli and Quiznos have all signed up with Deuces. Card packages are sold for $10 each, with a discount provided for students.

The card was designed by the Deuces Wild marketing team in conjunction with the tech team.
