Musicians can apply for awards program

A music awards program has been created for the local independent artists who live and/or perform in Ventura County.

The Music Awards for Ventura Roots and Independent Creations will be accepting submissions of nominations until Mon., July 9 for all genres of music.

Both original and cover materials are eligible. There is no age limit for submissions.

The MAVRIC awards ceremony will be on Sun., Oct. 21 at the Oceanview Pavilion in Port Hueneme.
