Happy Mother's Day 2007
These are some of the reasons why my Mom is special. Andrew Campion, Agoura Hills My mother, Joyce Fizzolio, was special because she touched the lives of so many people. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a respected voice teacher and role model for many students. My mother was very passionate about her work and helping others. She encouraged me to be passionate about the things I do in my life and she encouraged me to follow my dreams. Although she has left the earth, her spirit remains in my heart and my soul. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. Carolyn Trocino Agoura Hills My mom is the strongest woman I know. She has been to hell and back, yet still manages to be one of the kindest, most beautiful, and most caring people in this world. If one day, I can be half the woman that she is, I will know that I have done wellI love you mommy. And I always will. Happy Mother's Day.
Agoura Hills My mom is special because she manages to have a full-time, home-operated business with 300 clients, take care of her 87-year-old aunt, supervise me as I finish up my junior year of online high school, drive me back and forth all over the Conejo Valley, emotionally support my middleschoolteaching father, encourage my interest and participation in the arts, play "grandma" to two very demanding dogs, pay all the bills, and maintain her crazy sense of humor in the process. Elizabeth Barr Agoura Hills Our mom is special because she makes every day fun. She helps us with our school work and she makes our lunches. She loves us and cuddles with us every morning. She makes us blueberry pancakes on Saturday morning. She takes us horseback riding and always makes sure we have fun at Paramount Ranch. That is why our mom is special.
Agoura My mother was seriously afraid of heights and was uncomfortable with the idea when I decided to fly. Whenever I went for a lesson she insisted I call home at every stop and resumed her normal breathing only when I came in the door. Soon after getting my pilot's license I rented a Cessna and invited mom to fly. I knew she was nervous, but she climbed into the back seat. I couldn't see her behind me, but kept asking whether she was okay and she kept replying that she was fine. We took off and headed south. I circled around over our house, and pointed out landmarks as we flew along. I asked whether she could see the sights as we passed, and she always said "yes" in a calm voice.
Doris Jacobs passed away June 5, 2006, a remarkable and courageous mother. Bob Jacobs Westlake Village My mom, Charleen, was my best friend. This will be the first Mother's Day without her. We lost her to cancer last June, but it seems like yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her. I want to call her and tell her everything that goes on, because she was a great listener. Everyone remembers her as a classy woman with style. She had dignity and grace, and her love for animals was out of this world. Mom, you are so special to me because you take great care of me. Whenever I am sick you will cancel things that I know are important to you just to take care of me. Whenever I get the worries you always come and comfort me even if you are watching a show. You always take me shopping and buy me the cutest clothes. She has some disabilities where she can't do everything like undisabled moms, but I think she's the best mom in the whole wide world. Mom was always teaching me something, even in those instances when she was just learning something herself, or just making it up as she went along. Through a lifetime of observation, imitation, and emulation, I strive to live each day of my life with the vision of mom's actions in my mind and the meaning of mom's lessons in my heart. I do my best to pass mom's gifts on to my daughter, Jessica, and my son, David. Happy Mother's Day! Jon Henningsen Oak Park My mom gets up every morning at 6, makes sure everyone gets up and is ready on time. She has about 10 minutes to get ready herself before she has to leave for work. After a long stressful day at work she comes straight to pick me up from school and sits through a lot of traffic. Right when we get home she goes straight to the gym and gets home about an hour later. Then she cooks dinner, does laundry, grades papers, and has time to maybe watch one TV show before she has to go to sleep. My mom is the most kind, caring, thoughtful person I have ever met in my entire life. I don't think there is a single meal she eats without offering anybody food. She is really understanding. We can sit down and talk for hours about drugs, sex, alcohol, and boys. And if feels like I've been talking to a friend the whole time. But maybe that's because my mom is one of my friends. Actually she is one of my best friends. There is absolutely no reason to ever be ashamed or embarrassed to be seen with your mom or dad. I don't get to say this enough but I really just want to make sure you know how much I love you mom. You mean everything to me and I am so glad that you are my mom. Aimee Tabachnick Agoura Hills My mom is special because she is always there for me and my little brother. She is like my best friend. She helps me with everything like homework and chores. Now that we are older and realize all that you have done for us, we think that one day a year for you is not nearly enough. She was a very special mom because she was the one person who kept all her children together. After she died, some of the eight brothers and sisters separated themselves from each other. That saying to me defines my special mother, Joan Saunders. In 1997 I married. A friend said, "Why don't you move to Agoura Hills. My parents live there." We did. When I met Anne Lanaro, my friend's mom, I felt her love and kindness. She drew us to her as one of her own. Our children call her Grandma Anne. She is always there for us. She made my life whole again. Thank you for opening your heart to us. We were raised knowing that you were here to listen and to help resolve our relationships. You showed us to never give up in life. You had an amazing inner strength. My mother is special because she is nice, loving and beautiful. The best time ever with my mom is when we danced together happily at Willow (my school) at a fundraiser, the mother-and-son dance. Now I know that's not true, but my dear sweet almost87-year-old mother has dementia so she's not quite sure. When I leave the assisted care facility, I am comforted that my mother remains a caregivers' favorite because mom still remembers many of the words to those old love songs, that she was born in Montana on Memorial Day, and that "an apple a day keeps the doctor away."
