Local student accepted, will attend West Point

Ian McCaffrey Lenny

Calabasas resident Ian McCaffrey Lenny, 18, has been accepted for admission to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

Lenny is a 2006 graduate of Crespi Carmelite High School, Encino, and also attended Lupin Hill Elementary School and A.E. Wright Middle School.

He is completing his freshman year at UC Riverside as a member of the UC Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, ROTC and Pi Alpha Phi fraternity.

U.S. Rep. Henry A. Waxman, (D-Los Angeles), nominated Lenny for the academy.
