Enjoy Mexican food at benefit

The Women's Culinary Arts Guild and Alex Castillo, general manager of El Cazador Del Mar restaurant, will celebrate Mexican food and culture at 6 p.m. Wed., May 9 at the restaurant, 731 De La Guerra Plaza, Santa Barbara.

Hugo Valencia, the ambassador of Don Julio Tequila, will discuss the "spirit of the agave." Don Julio, one of the oldest producers of tequila, will be featured along with an authentic Mexican dinner prepared by Chef Roberto Lopez.

The guild is comprised of professionals in the food industry as well as those interested in cooking. The group's primary purpose is to raise scholarship funds for the Santa Barbara City College School of Culinary Arts and Hotel Management.

Cost for members is $40 and for nonmembers $45. There will be a no-host bar.
