Oaks Chamber Singers to perform German music

The Oaks Chamber Singers will present a program of German music at 7:30 p.m. Sun., May 20 in the Scherr Forum Theatre, Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Opening the program will be J.S. Bach's "The Coffee Cantata," which tells the story of a domineering father who threatens his daughter with many ways to get her to stop drinking coffee, but the daughter outwits him. This cantata features Joe Ehlinger, Susan Frye and Terry Minogue as the narrator.

The full ensemble will sing the German Waltzes by Brahms, opus 52, written for chorus, soloists and four-hand piano. Soon Seop Kim and Rosa LoGiudice will be featured at the piano.
