Triangle Ranch, city's pet project

Whenever I read a letter like the one submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Lebowitz I can't help but think they're in some way connected to the developer. Why would anyone that lives in Agoura of the Conejo Valley support further development?

The Agoura Village Plan is a disaster; so is the recently approved Triangle Ranch project. Both projects bring more traffic, congestion and people to an area most moved to in order to escape from. The most attractive quality of Agoura is the rolling hills, open spaces, the hiking and proximity to nature. And it's quickly being paved over.

If the Lebowitzes want to live near a town center, why don't they move to the Valley? Or better yet, the Town Center in Simi Valley or Valencia sounds right up their alley. Do the residents of Agoura really want a project like that?

I suggest that the residents of Agoura start asking the Agoura City Council members for answers fast. They seem insistent on pushing this project through. If a City Council is not working in the best interests of the residents and instead working on behalf of special interests, then it's time for a recall.

There's always an alternative to more building- it's called less building. If it's financially possible for the city and state to purchase this property and protect it for further generations, then everything possible needs to be done. Brett Woodmansee Calabasas
