Understanding children's picture books

Children's library assistant Jill Nevins will share her knowledge of young children and books at 7 p.m. Wed., May 9 at the Calabasas Library, 23975 Park Sorrento St.

Nevins will discuss how to choose picture books, how to read to and engage the young child, and what impact reading has on a developing mind. She has a master's degree in psychology and experience teaching parents of babies and toddlers.For information, call (818) 225-7616.
