'The little school that can'

It was great to see the article on Sumac Elementary's upcoming April 28 silent auction fundraiser, "A Slice of Paradise," in last week's Acorn.

I just wanted to point out that the picture of the old-school, custom-built chopper that's up for auction shows the bike "under construction."

The bike's gorgeous flame paint job, 60-spoke Black Bike wheels and hand-carved leather seat can be see on the school website www.sumacelementary. org or at Picture City Cycles right here in Agoura Hills. If you're interested in bidding on the bike, and every penny goes to the kids thanks to the incredible generosity of Picture City Cycles, call (818) 642-5311.

May I also take this opportunity to thank all the local families and merchants who support Sumac Elementary.

We are one of the few LVUSD's Title One schools, yet we are a California Distinguished School with a 9 out of 10 score in statewide rankings and a 10 out of 10 compared to similar schools. We like to call ourselves "the l i t t l e school that can," and every year we continue to achieve great things with the support of this wonderful community.
