Camarillo jazz festival seeking creative poster

The second annual Camarillo Art and Jazz Festival, August 10 to 12, is seeking entries for its poster contest. The deadline for submissions is Fri., May 4. The contest is open to all Ventura County residents.

The three-day art and jazz festival will celebrate Ventura County art and artists through several gallery and outdoor displays.

"A poster contest highlighting the talent of our local artists is a natural fit," said Thomas Kelley, president and CEO of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, a sponsor of the event. "The design should capture the spirit of our county's artistic landscape and the festival's vibrant jazz performances."

The winning poster art will be used in festival advertising and on the festival website, Tshirts and other promotional items.

Submitted entries must be reproducible in poster form. Entrants need only submit an image. Event name and dates will be added.

"Submissions should reflect the weekend's look and feel- a mix of cool jazz and inspiring art, all in beautiful settings around Camarillo," said Kelley.

Finished artwork must be 16 inches wide by 17 inches tall, centered and mounted on black matte board 18 inches wide and 19 inches tall. Entry name and contact information must be written on the back.

The first place winner will receive four VIP festival admission tickets valued at $600.

Submissions and entry forms can be mailed or hand delivered to the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, 2400 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo, CA 93010.
