Dogs have their day at pet fair

New Leash On Life animal rescue will host its sixth annual Nuts for Mutts Dog Show and Pet Fair 2007 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun., April 22 at Pierce College, Shepard Stadium, 6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills. Rain date is May 6.

Activities include food, carnival rides, live band fronted by FREEBO, silent auction, mobile pet adoption and a raffle for a 2007 Honda Element.

Kim Basinger will host the mutts-only dog show with a panel of celebrity judges. Categories include "Best In Show," "Best Kisser," "Best Dressed" and "Friendliest Dog."

Proceeds benefit New Leash On Life and the LendAPaw program which trains rescued dogs to be social/therapy companions for families and children with autism.

The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 3 and older and $5 for dogs. Children 3 and under are free.
