Misses the old Kanan on-ramp

Unless there are pending plans to revise the approach to both the north and south entrances to the freeway when traveling south on Kanan Road, the reconfiguration of the freeway entrances have created considerable ongoing traffic jams.

To begin with, the southbound entrance has been reduced to one from the previous two lanes.

Next, traffic headed for the northbound freeway entrance is almost constantly backed up whereby it is stalled in the second lane that one should use to approach the southbound freeway entrance.

The choice then becomes one of either waiting out the northbound freeway traffic so as to reach the southbound entrance, or to use a left lane to bypass the backed up traffic and then hope to squeeze into the southbound/ right traffic lane, which causes further congestion and may often frustrate drivers who may have a difficult time finding an opening to make the necessary lane change.

Surely the traffic planners should be aware of this mess, or else they ought to review it. Perhaps The Acorn could determine what, if any, plans are on the drawing board to solve it as soon as possible. Under the current and constant traffic back up conditions, I really miss the old left-turn approach to the southbound freeway entrance.
