New treasurer

Principle Based Enterprises, a leadership and management solutions company based in Agoura Hills, announced the appointment of Bart Thielen to the company's board of directors.

Thielen also will serve as PBE treasurer, advising the company on intellectual property development, licensing and alliance contracts.

Agoura exec joins Magic Castle

Agoura Hills resident Douglas Lyon was appointed executive director of the Academy of Magical Arts Inc., headquartered at The Magic Castle in Hollywood.

Lyon has more than 30 years experience in entertainment marketing.  His clients include Lionel Ritchie and Melissa Etheridge. He also directed marketing for many major concert tours including those of Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Barry Manilow, the Bee Gees and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Insurance group opens facility

Shred-a-thon this Saturday

Strategic Home Loans will host a Shred-A-Thon, an identity theft awareness event, from 9 a.m. to noon Sat. April 21 at 30423 Canwood St., Agoura Hills in front of the Mediterranea I building.

A paper shredding truck will be available. Coffee and smoothies will be provided.

Bring only paper to be shredded- no plastics or ringed binders. All documents will be shredded on location and brought to a recycling plant afterwards.
