Rifkinds honored for outstanding leadership

David Rifkind
David and Helen Rifkind will be honored with an Outstanding Leadership Award for their philanthropic work in the local community at the Heschel West Day School's annual gala Sun., May 6 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Two Dole Drive in Westlake Village.

For the past nine years, Helen has held leadership positions in Heschel West's parent organization. She also conceived the Taking Hold of Torah program.

David recently served as president on the school's executive board and also serves as board chair of several additional organizations that provide education and counseling services.

Together they are partners in the Los Angeles Jewish Venture Philanthropy Fund, which invests in startup programs that benefit Jewish communities in the U.S. and abroad. They are active supporters of the Washington Institute for New East Studies, and David is a fellow of the Wexner Heritage Foundation, a program that focuses on developing Jewish professionals and volunteer leaders in North America.

Heschel West Day School is a preK8 school with an award winning, credentialed faculty.
