+Have you ever walked into a store looking for simple Hanukkah wrapping paper and couldn't find a thing?

That was just the case for Oak Park residents Daphne and Don Yousem, who recently launched

JewcyWrap Hanukkah wrapping paper. The 2006 holiday season was in full swing, and all they wanted was to buy some nice Hanukkah gift paper. What they found was a few wimpy rolls of blue snowflakes hidden in the corner under all of the bountiful Christmas gift wrap.

"That's when it struck us," said Daphne Yousem. "Let's design some really funky and stylish Jewishthemed wrapping paper- not just for Hanukkah, but for all Jewish occasions."

Less than four months later, www.JewcyWrap.com is the place to go for Jewish-themed gift wrap. And it's not just for Hanukkah. Wrapping paper is available for bris', bar and bat mitzvahs, Passover, Purim and Shabbat.

+A Vancouver-based retail company, lululemon athletica, opened a new store this month in The Commons in Calabasas. The store, which has 49 locations in North America, Japan and Australia, sells yoga-inspired athletic apparel.

The store will host a grand opening party today, April 12, and provide a week of opening events that include free yoga classes, live music, kids/parents yoga, massage, dancers, food and goodie bags. The Calabasas store will offer workshops, events and yoga classes with local yoga instructors.

The company was founded in 1998 in Vancouver, B.C., by Chip Wilson, founder of Westbeach Sports, a skate/surf/snowboard clothing company, in response to the increase of female participation in sports.

"Calabasas has a strong sense of community and a passion for healthy living. It's a perfect fit to the lululemon philosophy," said Ana Sapriken, store manager. "We are looking forward to being a hub for health and fitness in the area."
