+Packets are available for the Summer 2007 Adult Coed Softball and Men's Softball Leagues. The coed league will play Sundays at Chumash and Forest Cove parks in Agoura Hills. League play is scheduled to begin on Sun., June 3. A manager's meeting and the deadline to register is 7 p.m. Thurs., April 19 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center. The men's league will play Saturday mornings at Chumash and Forest Cove parks. League play will begin June 2. Final determination of league format, deadline to register and the manager's meeting is 8 p.m. Thurs., April 19 at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center. +Team packets are available for the Summer 2007 Adult Basketball League. The basketball league will play Sundays from 6 to 10 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Agoura Hills/Calabasas Community Center. The league will begin play the week of May 13. +The eighth annual "Agourapalooza: Teen Battle of the Bands" will be at the Agoura Hills/ Calabasas Community Center from 7 to 11 p.m. Fri., April 20. Admission is $10 at the door. Drinks and snacks will be available. +Planet Expo and the 19th annual Trashbusters cleanup program will be Sat., April 28 in the Agoura Hills Civic Center parking lot. Planet Expo promotes awareness and education about the environment. Local organizations will have interactive activities and information. Trashbusters serves to clean and beautify Agoura Hills and to provide an opportunity to nonprofit organizations to raise funds. Participating groups will receive cash donations for each bag of trash collected. +A self-help course for teens and adults, "How to Promote Yourself," is a one-day workshop offered from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Sat., April 21 at the recreation center. The class is geared toward those seeking to improve their personal well-being. +The 2007 "Concerts in the Park" series banner promotion is underway. Organizations and businesses can sponsor a street banner, which will be hung along Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends to promote the concerts. The double-sided banners will display the name of the sponsor on the lower portion of the banner. |
