Mansion tour on tap for historical society
Greystone a Beverly Hills icon

The Calabasas Historical Society will take a tour of Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills Thurs., April 19. Members will meet at 8:45 a.m. behind the McDonald's at 4785 Las Virgenes Road, Calabasas, to car pool. There is limited parking on the Greystone grounds.

In its prime, the 46,054square-foot mansion had 67 rooms including stable apartments. The estate had tennis courts, a swimming pool and pavilion, kennels, waterfalls, lakes, stables, greenhouse and playhouse.

The main structure has been restored by the city of Beverly Hills, which took possession in 1966. Greystone has been used as the venue for many films and television shows, weddings and cultural events.

Admission is $10. After the tour interested members will have the opportunity to eat lunch at a Beverly Hills restaurant.To RSVP, call Karl Wedemeyer at (818) 333-6306.
