Art exhibit to highlight Santa Monica Mountains

An artists' showcase of plein air paintings will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sat., March 31 at the Wild Walnut Park at Headwaters Corner, Mulholland Highway and Old Topanga Canyon Road in Calabasas.

The exhibit is sponsored by Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore. Admission is free.

Plein air is art which is painted outdoors in nature. The exhibit will feature paintings depicting the various parklands and other locations throughout the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Works were created in oils, watercolors, mixed media, pastel and other art forms.
