UCLA Extension offers creative writing courses

UCLA Extension Writers' Program presents several creative courses for spring quarter, which begins March 31; enrollment is underway now. All classes meet on the UCLA campus.

Below are some of the new classes.

"Prepare to Send: From Editor to Agent" meets from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sat., April 7 in Public Policy Building room 1264. The cost is $110.

"The Pen Is Funnier than the Swordfish: Writing Short Humor" meets from 7 to 10 p.m. Tues., April 10 through June 12 in Public Policy Building room 2319. The fee is $375.

"From Pitch to Published: Writing the Nonfiction Book Proposal" meets from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., May 5 in Public Policy Building room 1264. The class will cost $95.

"Straight Talk for the Unpublished Crime Novelist: A OneDay Crash Course for Realists" meets from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., May 19 in Rolfe Hall Room 3114. The cost is $95.

"The Literature of Fact: Writing Creative Nonfiction Based on Reportage, Research or Personal Experience" meets 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun., May 19 to 20 in Public Policy Building room 1278. The fee is $230.

"Discovering and Creating Timeless Themes: A Weekend Seminar" meets 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun., June 2 to 3 in Haines Hall room A06. The class cost is $230.

"From Book to Screen" meets 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sat., June 16 in Public Policy Building room 1264. The fee is $95.
