Rotary Club rings in Persian New Year

BILL SPARKES/Acorn Newspapers
NEW DAY--Deborah Montague of Oak Park and Bernard Cartoon of North Ranch, seen through the bottom of a decorative plate, enjoy the appetizers at a Rotary Club of the Conejo Valley celebration of the Persian New Year, or Norouz, which means New Day. About 250 members came to the Westlake Hyatt to enjoy the food, dancing and entertainment as the club hosted the event for the second year in a row. The holiday, which lasts about two weeks, is the longest of the Iranian feasts and is also observed by Afghans, Kurds and Central Asians.
