Judges needed for fair Professionals in the sciences are needed to volunteer as judges for the 2007 Ventura County Science Fair Tues. through Thurs., April 17 to 19 at Seaside Park in Ventura. Nearly 1,000 students from throughout Ventura County, grades 6 through 12, will enter their projects in the 53rd annual fair, sponsored by the Ventura County Office of Education, HAAS Automation, Amgen and various sciencerelated organizations. This year's fair theme is "Exploring the Unknown." The judging portion of the fair will be on April 18, beginning at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast and orientation. Lunch also will be provided, and the day's activities will end about 4 p.m. Judges are needed in the following categories: animal behavioral and social sciences, human behavioral and social sciences, biochemistry, botany, chemistry, earth and environmental sciences and engineering, human biology, microbiology, physics, zoology, and mathematics, computer science and electronics. Students with the top projects will qualify to enter the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles May 21 and 22.
