Wellness Community announces new board of directors

Keith M. Gregory, Tom Crowell, Brian Layfield and Stephen L. Spector are the new officers of the board of directors for the Wellness Community Valley/Ventura.

"We are extremely fortunate to have this dynamic group of officers whose commitment and drive will help us sustain our ongoing programs and realize our goals for the future," said Suzanne Drace, president of the organization.

Board Chair Gregory, a partner at Encino law firm Greenberg & Bass LLP, is an Oak Park resident and a five-year veteran of the Wellness board, having previously served as secretary and vice chair. As chair, Gregory's focus is the "Friends for Hope" program, which is developing the "Garden of Hope" green area at the group's Westlake Village headquarters.

New Vice Chair Crowell, a Newbury Park resident and vice president and global chief information officer at Dole Foods in Westlake Village, has served on the Wellness Community board for two years.

Two-year board member and new secretary, Spector is senior vice president and general counsel of the Macerich Company, owners of the nearby Oaks mall.

Brian Layfield, a CPA, brings more than 20 years of senior financial experience to the position of board treasurer. A Ventura resident and CFO of Moorpark's Cardservice International, Layfield joined the board more than a year ago, after a colleague's invitation.

The Wellness Community Valley/Ventura is the local chapter of the international, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to men and women affected by cancer.
