OPHS presents concert

Oak Park High School will present the inaugural "Barbershop Mania" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wed., April 18 at the school's Pavilion, 899 N. Kanan Road.

Choir students have formed 14 barbershop quartets, which will compete for the first place Judges' Prize and first place People's Choice Award. The awardwinning quartet Hi Fidelity will serve as judges.

Winners of the Judges' Prize will receive $100 and the opportunity to perform at the Dick Van Dyke high school choral benefit concert Sun., May 13 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The prize was donated by the Conejo Valley Harmony Oaks Choir.

People's Choice will be determined by the number of voter's tickets in each quartet's bucket by the end of the evening. One voter's ticket is included in the price of admission, $10 for adults and $5 for students. Additional voter's tickets can be purchased.
