Calabasas High gets modern with 'Millie'

Calabasas High School will present the musical comedy "Thoroughly Modern Millie" from Tues. through Sat., March 20 through 24 at the school, 22855 Mulholland Hwy. Show times are 7 p.m. each day and a 2 p.m. matinee on March 24.

The play tells the story of Millie Dillmount, a country girl from Kansas who has just moved to the big city during the roaring 1920s with big dreams of marrying a rich boss. She encounters romance and a sleazy hotel manager who sells the young female guests into white slavery.

The show is directed by Bill Garrett, head of the school theater department. Joshua Barroll provides vocal direction; Aaron Kohen is the musical director, and Jennifer Currier is the choreographer.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the school or by calling (818) 222-9991.
