Heschel School will snarl traffic I share Larry Brown's concerns about the proposed site of the Heschel School in an equestrian residential zone. The traffic through Old Agoura is already horrible with people driving through it from Chesebro to avoid Kanan. It is even worse before and after classes at Agoura High or when the campus hosts special events. Every day I sit at the corner of Valley Heights and Argos Drive fuming mad, waiting for a saint to let me enter the intersection, while condemning Zev Yaroslavsky for preferring to ignore common sense and reasonable constituents. Being against the Heschel project doesn't make me anti-Semitic, anti-youth or antieducation. Simply, I am a local resident with serious concerns about worsening daily traffic. Also, I can confirm for Barrie Susan Magidoff that the Los Angeles County Code is the governing "leash law" for Agoura Hills, requiring all pet owners to use leashes to "control" their dogs on streets and other public places. I am also confronted by loose dogs when I walk my dogs on their leashes. I usually inform pet owners about the leash law, which is intended to protect the safety of all animals and people. Even a small loose dog threatens my safety and my large dogs. Loose dogs can cause dog fights, and anyone who tries to break them up can get hurt. Dogs that are on leashes feel threatened by dogs off leashes, so leashed dogs try to break loose to defend themselves. If I'm confronted twice by the same loose dog, I call Animal Control- (818) 991-0071- to give a warning or issue a citation, which starts at $100. The Calabasas Bark Park is located at 4232 Las Virgenes Road. It is an excellent place to socialize with responsible dog owners while dogs run free and socialize. Rebecca E. Arvizu Agoura Hills |
