Reader loves the hills too

Once again a letter to The Acorn has so touched my heart that I am compelled to write my second letter to a newspaper.

I am referring to "Sorry to see the hills for sale" by Emily and Ilsa Buelow (March 8). First of all, I want to compliment both girls for their wonderful writing skills and ability to transfer their heartfelt thoughts to a piece of paper at such a young age. Obviously The Acorn felt the same way. Even if they had a little adult guidance on their composition and phrasing, my feelings after reading their lovely letter are just as strong.

Indeed, Emily and Ilsa, you are so correct when you state, "How sad it is that people grow up and measure their wealth by the dollars in their pockets rather than the beauty around them."

As is often the case, observations seen through the innocence of a child's eyes discard the trapping of adulthood and cut right to the heart of the matter.

There is a great age difference between myself and these two young sisters, but to both of them I say, "Don't ever lose your ability to appreciate the beauty around you," and to your parents I say, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Louise Ingram Agoura Hills
