Way to go!

Kyle Brooks, an Agoura Hills resident and a 2005 graduate of Hillcrest Christian High School in Thousand Oaks, joined nearly 25,000 other participants in running this year's Los Angeles Marathon. The March 4 race started near Universal Studios and ended downtown.

Brooks, who is a sophomore dean's list student at Azusa Pacific University, trained for the marathon with other APU students in partnership with Horizon International to help earn monies for AIDS orphans in subSaharan Africa.

Brooks finished the marathon in 3 hours 28 minutes, good for 19th place in his age bracket.
