Conejo Youth Orchestra to present classic concert for kids

The Conejo Valley Youth Orchestras and music therapist Tomiko Hamada Taylor will present their sixth annual "First classic concert for children and parents" at 2 p.m. Sat., March 31 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 32111 Watergate Road, Westlake Village.

The show is free, and all children and adults are invited.

The special guest is marimbist Naoko Takada, who will play various familiar pieces with a piano accompaniment and will encourage children's participation in improvisation. She will also answer questions from the audience.

Takada won first place in the Young Concert Artists international auditions in 2002 and debuted at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
