Need Keeler on City Council Last week's attempt at the candidates' forum to thread Toby Keeler, of all people in this city, to development is almost comical. Chances are that Toby had a hand in preserving the open space in your neighborhood or unfettered ridgeline or a hundred other things that you have come to appreciate and admire about this city. He's been working for Calabasas since the city was founded, in the nonglorious, behindthescenes venues that really matter, no photo ops here, no television cameras, or chic presentations. He goes where few of us have the courage to go to challenge the seemingly all-powerful new city urban planners or directors who green light projects and grant lot line adjustments even behind closed doors to developers with little regard for our General Plan which ensures we don't become "San Fernando Valley West." It's become the "what can your city do for you" candidates versus the "what can you do for your city" candidate who is unequivocally Toby Keeler. He's the guy. We need him to join Councilmembers Bozajian and Mauer to get back on track. Toby has the background, knowledge, experience, integrity, focus and passion for our city that we so badly need restored to our council.
The thing is, we need to pay attention today and elect
him now on March 6, because tomorrow is too late. The changes being made are
irreversible. | |||||
