Digging for pieces of the past

ANCIENT ARTIFACT- Westlake Village resident Merle Hamilton views a display of a piece of Ventura's San Miguel Chapel that she discovered after 30 years of digging for relics. The piece, believed to have been painted by a local Chumash artist in the 200-year-old adobe chapel, is part of the new Museum of Ventura County exhibit on display in The Oaks mall.
