Kindergarten sign-ups begin

The Oak Park Unified School District has set the following registration times for incoming kindergarten students. All schools will sign up new students on Mon., March 26. Children need not be present to register.

For Red Oak Elementary School, sign-up is from 8:30 a.m. to noon for students entering school who currently have a sibling attending Red Oak. All others will register from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

At Brookside Elementary School, sign-up is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. for students entering school who currently have a sibling attending Brookside. All others will register from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

For Oak Hills Elementary School, registration will be from 10 to 3 p.m. for students entering school who currently have a sibling attending Oak Hills. New students may sign up from 10 to 3 p.m. on both Mon., March 26 and Tues., March 27.

To be eligible for kindergarten in September, a child must turn 5 years old on or before Dec. 2.

At the time of registration the following documentation is required: child's Social Security number, original countyregistered birth certificate with copy to be retained by the school, complete immunization record, stamped or signed by physician with copy to be retained by the school and three proofs of residency to include California driver's license or car insurance, a utility bill other than a phone bill and rental agreement, escrow papers or tax bill.
