Environment is important to Barry Groveman

Please join me in supporting Barry Groveman for the Calabasas City Council.

As a resident of Calabasas since 1987 and currently serving as an environmental commissioner for the city of Calabasas, now is the time to ensure that we have a council member who will continue the stewardship of our environment.

Anyone who wants to be sure we have a councilman with a strong environmental record who has and will protect our precious open space, streams and trails and aggressively prevent congestion should check out Barry Groveman's record. It is rather extraordinary.

Most notable for Calabasas is his leadership in getting funds to help purchase the Soka property for permanent open space, the passage of Measure D last year which prevents future city councils from touching open space without a vote of the people, and the groundbreaking Calabasas Styrofoam ban which will protect streams, creeks, wildlife, marine life, beaches and the ocean.

Rather than detail all his efforts here, let me just refer to a quote from wellrespected environmental activist and actor Ed Begly Jr. who said, "I have known Barry since 1986 when I campaigned with him in support of California's landmark environmental law, Proposition 65, the 'Safe Drinking Water Act,' which he co-authored. His many groundbreaking environmental achievements over the past two decades have established him as one of the great environmental leaders in California." That says it all.
