Council consensus

Calabasas is now considered one of the finest and well-run cities in California because of its environmental leadership and protection of open space, its strong support of both public and private educational institutions, and its commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy place to live.

The city's hard-earned reputation is due in large part to the leadership of Mayor Dennis Washburn and Councilmember Barry Groveman.

While we council members don't always agree how to vote on the issues, our residents have grown accustomed to cordiality and thoughtful discussions at council meeting. There is no room for hidden agendas, pet projects, political jockeying or personal attacks. Our common goal is to demonstrate what good government looks like.
