New law will lighten students' load
Changing technology calls for more 'electronic' textbooks

      A recent law authorizing a pilot program for 12 school districts to purchase electronic textbooks will lighten some students' backpacks and transform homework into an interactive experience.

Apply for scholarships
      Applications are available for scholarships sponsored by the Westlake Women's Club. The awards will go to senior students in the seven Conejo Valley area high schools and continuation schools. The deadline for submission is April 23.

Admissions Update at Selective Schools
      Getting up at 6 a.m. to drive to Orange County is not my idea of fun, but last week's meeting with admissions officers from Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, Pomona College and Loyola Marymount University was worth the trip.
