Ventura County Fair will feature old-fashioned fun
Funnel cake and Ferris wheels usher in days-gone-by theme

The board of directors of the Ventura County Fairgrounds has announced the theme of the 132nd Ventura County Fair will be "An Old Fashioned Fair."

"This year's theme conjures up the Ventura County Fair's past in a romantic way while reaffirming our deep connection to agriculture by those who participate by showing their livestock, their produce and their skills," said Bob Guillen, newly elected president of the board of directors. "'An Old Fashioned Fair' brings to mind the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the fair that we all have enjoyed for generations. Whether it's the sweet smell of funnel cake or the memory of your first kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel, our memories of fair experiences will be relived with a sense of love and pride at the Ventura County Fair."

The Ventura County Fair will open Wed., Aug. 1 and run through Sun., Aug. 12.
