During Tuesday's downpour, a 12-foot potable water pipe burst under Canwood Street in Agoura Hills, sending a geyser almost 50 feet into the air and shutting down drinking water service for several hours.
One vehicle was damaged by the exploding debris and traffic remained blocked from afternoon until evening, but there were no injuries, said a spokesperson for the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District.
The water to many homes and businesses from Reyes Adobe Road to Lake Lindero Drive had to be turned off until workers were able to isolate the break, the spokesperson said.
