Engineers to be awarded

The National Engineers Week awards banquet for Ventura and Santa Barbara counties will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wed., Feb. 7 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

The guest speaker will be Capt. Heidemarie StefanyshynPiper, U.S. Navy, astronaut and mission specialist on the recent space shuttle Atlantis flight from Sept. 9 to 21 and the first woman to conduct a space walk.

Admission includes dinner and drinks, a tour of the Presidential Library and Air Force One, Employee and Project of the Year awards, scholarship awards to local engineering students and a teacher recognition award.
