City of Agoura Hills to sponsor blood drive

SoCal Blood Services is teaming up with the city of Agoura Hills to conduct a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 15 at Agoura Hills City Hall, 30001 Ladyface Court.

All blood collected at the event will be given to USC University Hospital.

Donating blood is a simple process which includes registration, screening and a miniphysical. The actual donation takes about 10 minutes, and then donors are asked to relax and enjoy refreshments for at least 15 minutes.

All donors receive a special token of thanks.

About 60 percent of all people will need blood at some point in their lives. Blood shortages affect everyone to some extent, so it is critical that people make an effort to donate regularly. A healthy, qualified donor can give blood as often as every 50 to 60 days.

For more information about the blood drive or to sign up, call Irene Ponce at (818) 917-5594 or Celeste Bird at (818) 597-7306.
