Children's events coming

The Calabasas Library at 23975 Park Sorrento will present the following children's programs. For more information on any event, call Karilyn Steward, Calabasas Library youth services librarian, at (818) 225-7616.

Young readers in grades K through 3 can read aloud to a therapy dog between noon and 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 3. Sign up begins at 11:30 a.m. Each child will have 15 minutes to read to a dog.

A popular, newly released anime movie will be shown at 2 p.m. Sat., Feb. 10. Admission and refreshments are free. The movie is rated PG, and no one under the age of eight will be admitted without an adult.

The following programs for elementary school-aged children will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Events are free and no tickets are required.

The Magic of Rafael and Katia will perform a colorful magic show with birds and special effects. Feb. 7.

The ACME Balloon Company will present "Annie Banannie and her Balloon Reading Adventures." Annie will share her balloontwisting and Valentine fun. Feb. 14.

The National Theatre for Children, sponsored by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, will present "A Boatload of Trouble," a play about the environment and conserving water. Feb. 21.

Musician Dave Winstone will sing and entertain with his multitude of instruments, with a special presentation of New Orleans Jazz in honor of Black History Month. Feb. 28.
